These are our 9 personal favorites — the places we actually go after years on the mountain. Every one is worth the drive.

The Village breakfast institution. Famous Belgian waffles with every topping imaginable, plus a full brunch menu that satisfies the whole group. Dog-friendly patio right by the lake. Get there early on weekends — the wait is worth it. Our pick for the big group morning-after breakfast.
Chef Antonello Zito — a Chopped Battle Italiano champion — serves the most authentic Italian food on the mountain, with ingredients imported directly from Italy. The lobster ravioli, carbonara, braciole pasta slow-cooked 6+ hours, and the Special Tiramisu Flambé are legendary. A genuine Italian escape in the pines. Open Tue, Thu–Sun for dinner.
Seated right on the water with breathtaking stretched lake views from inside. The fish and chips are genuinely exceptional — perfectly golden, crispy batter. Huli Huli chicken is another standout. Happy hour on drinks. A great lakeside lunch spot after a morning on the dock.
A Lake Arrowhead institution since 1983 — family-owned and operated in the iconic round building at the Village. The best margaritas on the mountain, legendary burritos, and a gorgeous lakeside patio in summer. Breakfast on weekends, lunch and dinner daily. Live music Sunday afternoons on the patio. No reservations needed.
A charming Village café serving specialty coffees, an exceptional loose-leaf tea selection, smoothies, hot cider, fresh-made crêpes, paninis, and baked goods. The go-to morning stop before a day on the lake. The Turkey Pesto Panini and caramel apple crêpe are guest favorites. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff.
A beloved local coffee spot close to the cabins — early morning hours make it perfect for grabbing your first cup before hitting the trails or the lake. A true locals’ haunt with that small-mountain-town coffee shop feel. Open Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun from 7am to 1pm.
Step back into the 1950s — complete with the music, decor, and big smiles. A genuinely fun spot for the whole family, famous for thick malts and shakes, classic diner breakfasts, and burgers that hit the spot. The kids love it every time. One of those places that makes Lake Arrowhead feel like a real mountain town, not just a resort.
The best dinner on the mountain — full stop. Chef Sam Perry changes the menu almost daily based on what’s fresh. Famous for duck fat fries, steak tartare, the beet salad, and a well-curated wine list. Cozy, intimate, and the kind of restaurant you don’t want to leave. Wed–Sun dinner only. Book ahead on weekends.
Wood-fired pizza with a genuine following — cozy outdoor patio, crackling oven, and pies worth seeking out. The best pizza on the mountain. Also does takeout, which makes a game room night even easier. Even the local boat captain tells visiting guests to come here. If you’re craving pizza after a day on the lake, this is the call.
The main full-service grocery for the area. Everything you need for a multi-day stay — produce, meat, dairy, wine, and household essentials. Open daily.
Specialty grocery with a great wine selection, gourmet cheeses, and artisan pantry items. Perfect for picking up a nice bottle or a charcuterie spread for the deck.
For large groups, do a Costco or grocery run at the base before heading up. Prices are higher on the mountain — both cabins have plenty of fridge and pantry space to handle a big haul.
Now that you know where to eat, all that’s left is picking your cabin and locking in your dates.
